What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

If you're looking to start living a healthy and fit lifestyle, my number one piece of advice is DON'T compare your journey to others! Everyone's journey is different and everyone lives a healthy lifestyle in different ways. You can't compare your chapter one to someone else's chapter fifteen.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

I can't imagine my life without fitness. After undergoing three surgeries (two emergency and one planned) in 2011 and being diagnosed with Crohn's disease, I set out to make a change in my life. I didn't want my disease to impact me... I wanted it to help inspire others and show everyone that WE can overcome hardships. In some ways, I'm grateful for the diagnosis because it's taught me to see the positive in life and also led me to the healthy lifestyle I live today.
