What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

We all start somewhere and the key is to take those first steps. After having 4 babies in 5 years, I was 48 lbs overweight and had abdominal separation/Diastasis recti. I felt completely hopeless about ever getting fit and healthy again. Looking back, I would have never have imagined that I would be as fot as I am today! I took those first steps..and they were hard!! But it was so worth it!! Now I have the honor of encouraging other women to do the same.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Of course the physical changes of my transformation were so rewarding, but the inner changes are the ones I celebrate the most! But the best part of all is the platform that fitness has given me to inspire other women and moms. I am a huge advocate/educator of Diastasis recti awareness and core rehab postpartum. So many women are discouraged by this condition and there is a lack of information out there. I have the privilege of giving other women hope as they heal their bodies!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

If I were chosen as the next Ms Health and Fitness, I would donate a portion to a domestic violence non-profit organization. As a survivor of domestic violence, this is very important to me. I would use the rest of the money to continue to spread awareness on Diastasis recti.
