I am a 12 year Multiple Sclerosis Warrior. MS doesn't define me. It makes me stronger, humble and ambitious. It's made health my mission.

Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Kari and her voters for helping us donate $179,724.93 to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

People who want to be fit and healthy must own their situation and take it very seriously. Being healthy is relative to the individual. For instance, people like me who have been diagnosed with serious health concerns are usually forced into predicaments of special needs and accountability. However, there are certain base accountabilities people should pay close attention to. For instance, exercising, eating properly, and being responsible for regular checkups and screenings.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness keeps me moving versus being limited in terms of my mobility and activities. It inspires me to fight for my mind and body connection. My daily fitness mission is to maintain and stretch the capabilities of my body. My belief is, if you don't move it, you lose it. Fitness has inspired me - in my own way - to guide others with a common thread to move. I applied for the Trade Mark "Muscles4MS" which will be used to promote movement and exercise for people diagnosed with MS.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

MS is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body. I would use the reward funds to encourage other MS warriors to stay strong and keep it mov'n. My plan is to invest in my website strategy which would feature positive affirmations, videos and blog posts. I'm also considering writing a book about this journey - my highs, lows, and insecurities - all of which make me stronger. Fitness preserves life.
