What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Being fit and healthy takes time and patience. People want to see quick results but in reality it takes hard work and dedication. By balancing your sleep, work schedule, meal prepping and family can be very challenging. Time management is key. Listening to your body is most important. If your body needs rest and fuel listen to it. Stress can cause cortisol levels to rise. Yoga and meditation definitely helps any stress on your body. If you want it bad enough anything is possible!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

It taught me self discipline. I was a gymnast for 12 years. After high school I lost my motivation. I was always fit and loved to workout. It helped detox by getting rid of any negative thoughts or stress in my life. It made me work hard and have a goal towards something. I felt less tired and had more energy. I got into bikini competitions which boosted my self esteem back up again. Fitness is the best medicine to help you mentally and physically!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would donate a portion to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital foundation. I work in a hospital as an Ultrasound technologist and worked with young sick children. I would also travel and compete in as many bikini competitions as possible since it’s something I’m very passionate for.
