What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Just start. Don’t worry about what you might do wrong or what others might think of you. Get yourself out the door and create healthy, sustainable habits. None of us are perfect and everyone starts somewhere. Fitness is a growth process and the more you practice, the more you learn and the better you become.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness is one of the most self-empowering acts you can perform. When I’m training, I’m responsible for getting to the gym, for pushing myself hard, and for completing everything I set out to do in that session. Through competing and training, I have developed more self discipline and drive than I ever thought possible. That feeling I get after I finish a grueling workout is an indescribable high I think everyone should get to experience.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

If I were to become the next Ms Health and Fitness, my first priority would be to pay back my mom for everything she has done for me, especially during my last competition season. Being a single mom who works multiple jobs to make ends meet, she deserves to be put first for a change, and I believe this money would help me do that for her. My next priority would be to become a certified personal trainer and begin developing programs so I can help others with their own health and fitness journeys
