What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Thinking about it is the first step. Decide you want it and then do it, but do it for yourself. Work hard and always give your very best. You deserve nothing less. Enjoy your life and be kind to yourself outside of the gym. Get enough sleep. And EAT YOUR VEGGIES!!!!!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

It makes everything better! I feel strong. I believe I'll shoot hoops with my grandkids and celebrate my 100th birthday. I feel healthy and motivated in all aspects of my life. More importantly, it offers me a sense of belonging. I'm up every day at 4:00 am because I believe it all starts at the gym! I train with an amazing group of people. We work hard, encourage one another, and have a lot of fun. When I take care of myself, I can better take care of others.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I want to partner with other instructors to fund a fitness camp for children in my community and make donations to my library district, food banks, Children's and Shriners Hospitals.
