What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Being fit & healthy doesn’t come overnight, it is a lifelong commitment to yourself. On your journey, be kind to yourself, expect to hit road bumps and accept them, but keep moving forward. Never quit and surround yourself with others who will push you and motivate you along the way.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has always been a part of my life and has literally saved me from times of depression, stress and anxiety. When I’m feeling down, I throw on my sneakers, tighten my shoelaces and hit the ground running. There’s no better feeling than leaving all the sweat and tears behind after a great workout. I have also met so many amazing people through fitness. I have a family of friends from all walks of life who motivate and uplift each other regularly.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would use the money to facilitate my dream of opening up my own fitness club. Not a typical gym, but a place where people can workout, take classes, be trained one on one and in small groups, but more importantly a place to find hope, encouragement, nutritional guidance & support and make lifelong friends in the process. Having this money would allow me the opportunity to fund my dream, making it a reality!
