Ms. Health and Fitness and Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors would like to thank Christi Ruhtz and her voters for helping us donate $179,724.93 to our injured United States military veterans!

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Start off by loving and forgiving yourself. A healthy lifestyle is not without failures. But when met with those adversities it is about how you come back to make yourself even better than you were before. Your health is more than just your physical appearance, it is about being healthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Let me count the ways! As a survivor of domestic violence, I turned to fitness to help me get through the hardest times of my life. Engaging in exercise helped me to rebuild my self-esteem and learn to love myself after being destroyed emotionally and physically. The journey continued and I found it paramount to help others in my same situation.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would donate a portion of the money to the Suncoast Animal League. I rescued my pitbull, Jake, from this organization. They do amazing things within the community to help animals all around the country find homes. Most importantly they are a no kill shelter. Secondly, I would place a large portion of the money into a savings account for my two beautiful nieces! Lastly, the remaining money will be put towards my lifelong dream of owning my own gym!
