First, you have to believe that you deserve to be fit and healthy. Doubt is failures first cousin. Second, start one step at a time. Setting too many goals and making too many changes at once can be overwhelming and you could develop the urge to quit. Choose one behavior change, work towards mastering that change before adding a new behavior change (ex: get in the habit of working out before you try changing your entire eating habits).How does fitness positively influence your life?
I used to be very self conscious about my body and often times covered myself up so that others wouldn't see me and I felt stressed in social settings. Since transforming my body, I have no shame in how I look and I feel confident in many new areas of my life. It has helped me with feeling confident in communicating with others, which in turn, has helped with finding new jobs and receiving job promotions. I no longer hide my body but use it to help inspire others.If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?
I would use a portion of the funds to be donated to the Levine Children's Hospital, which helps with cancer research and with helping children fight cancer. Another portion of the funds would go towards my continuing education efforts designed to broaden my knowledge of health and fitness so I can be a wealth of knowledge to help other. Lastly, a portion would be donated to the UNCG Health and Human Sciences Department.
