What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

I would recommend to anyone who is new or newer to the fitness world to never give up, no matter the set-backs that may arise. Sometimes it may be hard to stay motivated to continue towards your goal and you feel like you are going nowhere, but everything takes time. We all started somewhere and worked our way up. Having an accountability partner is a huge benefit, as you will have someone who is there right with you cheering you on. You will be able to push each other at the same time.

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness has helped me be more determined at work and school to be my best self. Athletics has taught me how to set goals, fitness and life, and how to continuously strive to be my best self no matter the set-backs. Fitness is an escape, where I can channel all my energy and emotions to something that will benefit the way I feel and help me continue living a healthier lifestyle. I have met so many amazing people along the way, including my husband, as we were both Division 1 swimmers in college.

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

I would use it to help benefit not only my life but my family's. I would first use it to go towards my MBA I'm currently enrolled in. I would also put a good amount away in savings for my future children to make sure they will have the same athletic childhood I had, providing them with their best future possible. I would also use some to go towards building my home-gym, as a military family we are constantly moving and this would provide me with constant access to keeping my healthy lifestyle.
