Q&A

What would you recommend to others who want to be fit and healthy?

Set goals and stick to them!! It’s not easy, especially when you don’t see big progress. Don’t rely on the scale - take measurements, take pictures. Most importantly go by how you feel. If you feel better, chances are you’re accomplishing your goals. See how your clothes fit and how you look. Fitness is a journey and the path can be hard, but stay consistent and you’ll achieve your goals. Progress over perfection everyday!

How does fitness positively influence your life?

Fitness saved my life. I was gaining weight due to PCOS, having pain from endometriosis/adenomyosis and multiple injuries (neck, back, knee & elbow) and 2 c-section births. Finding fitness after my neck surgery allowed me to make myself a priority. It allowed me to get my life back and accomplish goals of competing in Fitness and Figure with the NPC and to complete triathlons. Fitness has given me my quality of life back and it allows me to be a positive influence on my family’s life!

If you were the next Ms Health and Fitness, what would you do with $20,000?

Bring fitness to more moms and women in general! Showing that fitness can help them achieve their goals - in all areas of life and educating them about what they can do for their own health regardless of what they are dealing with - chronic health conditions, injuries, pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc. Women especially hear a lot of “no, you can’t do that”...but yes they can! I know because I’ve lived it and would love to become a positive role model for women of all ages!
